The Parent Network is an enthusiastic group of volunteers from Kenakena School families.
KSPN fundraisers help pay for important educational activities and resources which aren’t fully covered by government funding.
We play a vital role in supporting the school pool, library, the dyslexia unit, boys’ mentoring programme, Mana Wāhine group, and extra classroom resources.
We aim to make an annual contribution of at least $25,000 to support these activities.
Our special events create a real buzz around the playground and help build an enduring sense of community too. We’d love to have your help! Join us at kspn@kk.school.nz.
Our tamariki love occasional school discos, dress up days, movie nights, roller discos, pool parties, cake and plant sales, bouncy castle days, fun runs, sausage sizzles and more. Your ideas are always welcome – please email us at kspn@kk.school.nz.
Nau mai, haere mai! Come along to our welcome coffee morning and meet the Parent Network.
We’re always excited to meet other parents and carers who joined the school community in the past year or two.
We have one official coffee morning each term – check the KSPN Facebook page or the school newsletter for the next date. Please RSVP with your preferred drink – the first one’s on us! kspn@kk.school.nz
If you’d like to meet the team at other times – please let us know! We also have regular evening meetings during term time.
Friday lunches are a highlight of the week for Kenakena kids and raise around $7,000 for the school each year!
We need more people to join the roster to help collate and prepare orders. Tasks involved are quite easy and no experience is required.
A team of parent volunteers meets on Friday mornings from 9 to 10am to collate lunch orders. Another team helps prepare class orders for collection from 12:40pm to 2pm. Keen to help? Email kspn@kk.school.nz
Rebus meetings take place in Paraparaumu on the first Tuesday of every month from 10am till 11:30am. Our volunteers make cups of tea in return for a donation to the school.
Time to declutter or destash? Make some quick cash! Book your stall at the Kenakena School Car Boot Sale on Sunday 17 September, 9am-12pm.
A Car Boot Sale is like a combination of a garage sale, local market and treasure hunt – you could find an amazing bargain! In addition to all the amazing community stalls, there’ll be snacks, coffee and a breakfast sausage sizzle to keep you going.
Visitors can enjoy free entry 9am-12pm and free parking near the school.
Sellers please book a stall for $25 per family-sized vehicle. Entry and set up from 8am, last entry 8:40am. Depart from 12:15pm. More info about event logistics.
Please get in touch with us if you have any questions – kspn@kk.school.nz and follow our Facebook page for updates.
